What is home automation?
Home automation enables you to automatically and remotely control lighting, intruder/fire detection systems, audio, video and much more.

Who are we and what do we do?
We are a friendly company based in Redditch, South of Birmingham. We supply and install Control4 home automation systems including automation of lighting, security, heating, whole of home audio/video, and remote system access. Control4 is an international company and a world leader in the supply of home automation products. With Control4 you can control your home using a hand-held remote control or table-top/in-wall touch screens and keypads. The system can switch your lights on and off while you are away from home, control your security system, water your bedding plants, control cctv cameras, check statuses of doors and windows, and lots more. The real benefit of a home automation system is that all this can be done from anywhere in the home, or indeed anywhere in the world over the internet.

It really isn’t expensive!
Systems can start from around £1000 and be gradually extended over time.

Your system can be programmed to:

• • Help save on energy costs by switching off devices no longer in use, for example, to turn off lights where there has been no movement in a room for a pre-set length of time.
• • Configure your light switches to gradually turn on over a 15 minute period, or for your curtains or blinds to open, giving your eyes time to adjust to the morning light.
• • Use your Speakers to automatically play your favourite music and raise the volume gradually over a 15 minute period when it’s time to wake up.
• • Make it appear that you are at home while on holiday by automatically turning on the kitchen lights during dinner time and other lights around the house as required. Open and close curtains and blinds at sunrise and sunset.
• • Enable remote internet access in order to remotely control your lights and security devices from anywhere in the world.
• • Alert you by email or text messages whenever your alarm is triggered. Using the internet or mobile phone you can connect to your security cameras and view the scene around your home. If it is a false alarm you can reset the alarm remotely.

The possibilities are endless! Every person will find their own unique way to incorporate and use the system.

If you are interested in a demonstration we will pop round to your home or office and talk you through how it works and how it all links together, and hand over the controls so that you can get a feel for it. Beware though! Once you start to use the system and see what it can do you will be hooked.
We will discuss your requirements and offer advice and ideas for you to think about, give you an idea of the costs depending on those requirements and then leave you to think about it. There is no hard sell or badgering, we are neither capable nor inclined to do that, just call us back when you have decided and if you would like to discuss the system further, or decide that you would like us to carry out an install we will visit you again to make detailed notes and plans.

The system is installed but how does it work?
We will supply you with information and details about each device and will sit with you after installation to teach you how to get the most out of your system. In the first few weeks, when you get used to the system, you will most likely want to make changes to the way it works, that's no problem. Depending on the type of changes you want to make you will be able to do it yourself or you might have to call us to make some changes, particularly if you decide to add further automation, either way is not a problem. If we need to make system changes you won't even have to wait in for us, we can make the changes to your system over the internet. Don't worry about security, you will have the option to grant us access to the system at the times you choose. When we have finished you can turn the grant off. This opton also allows your system to be kept up to date with new releases of software from Control4.
